
Marchionne likes to whiine about overcapacity, but that's only an issue because Fiat's model lineup is dreadful. Only the 500 and its derivatives are appealing, but even those have some issues - why can't you have an automatic transmission on the city-dwelling 500 1.3 multijet? The germans - VW - have proven that if you build good cars, people will buy them. A lack of vision and adequate investment, when it was called for, is what's truly hurting Fiat's bottom-line.
